Friday Week One Term 2 Daily Challenge
We were at the table having dinner when out of nowhere Dad hit us with a big surprise. “Guess what kids.” Dad said in a cool calm voice.”We’re going on holiday!” He screamed with such enthusiasm that the neighbours probably heard him. The whole table erupted with cheering for a few seconds before simultaneously stopping. “Where did you get enough money to buy a hotel for nine people?” He suddenly stopped smiling. “Well I got it off site called Booking.com.” Everyone stared at him suspiciously. “It said it was near the beach, has a golf course and it even has internet. Everyone sprang back into excitement. “Internet, internet, internet, internet!” everyone cheered. But when we arrived it was another dud excitement and energy wasted, on a boring old haunted castle.

You have captured the pitfalls that booking online can bring. Descriptions and images do not always match up with reality.
ReplyDeleteThere is certainly a change in the must haves for holiday fun nowadays. I sound old! The Internet has changed our lives. Can we ever be truly off line? How would we have managed without the Internet during Lockdown?
The image you wrote about, showed a castle that I would certainly not fancy staying in but when you do get a chance to visit a castle it brings so many of the stories and films, along with the history we learn, to life. How did they make such massive stone fortresses, then add carved rock statues and trimmings that still stand today?
